Social Programme
The following social events will take place during the 25th SATS Congress. Please note that all events with a World Transplant Games (WTG) logo are hosted by the WTG organising committee and are not official congress events. You will however be able to book for these events through the SATS congress online registration process. We will make arrangements for your event and transport tickets.
Social event fees as indicated below are applicable to delegates and accompanying persons.

Delegates are invited to join the World Transplant Games Welcome Function that will be hosted by the Mayor of eThekwini. This informal event will give delegates the opportunity to network with dignitaries and participants attending the Games.
** Transport is only provided from the WTG participating hotels (Southern Sun Elangeni, North Coast, Sun Coast Towers, Belaire Suites) to the social venue and back.
Delegates staying at Protea Hotel Edward should make their own arrangements.

The opening ceremony is the official Opening of the 2013 World Transplant Games. The evening is sure to be a wonderful event which will include each nation’s flag displays, opening speeches and addresses and the official declaration of the start of the WTG 2013. The evening will include a sit down formal dinner with lots of wonderful entertainment showcasing some of the cultures, talent and arts which South Africa has to offer. Whilst the final evening’s theme and eventing program is still to be finalised we guarantee an evening of true African Extravaganza.

| The SATS Congress welcome function will take place in the exhibition hall and will give delegates and trade the opportunity to network before the start of the 25th SATS Congress. |

The Cultural event dinner will be the main “cultural event” during the games. The theme of “Shebeen Evening” will be adopted with décor and entertainment to simulate a South Africa shebeen. We envisage a fun and vibrant evening, encouraging participation by all. Whilst the final program is to still be finalise, we envisage the inclusions of some of the following elements into the evening entertainment; pantsula dancers, fire performers, drumming circle, township tavern music, song and dance.

Nestled in the stern of the Phantom Ship, with superb views of the ocean and shark tank, this captivating world-class venue restores the splendour of yesteryear.
